Last year, we had a virtual army (which, on hindsight, was most likely mostly bots and fakes as well) telling the German embassy that nazism isn't rightwing, after it posted a video about how they start teaching about muh seis million the Holocaust at a very young age. Yes, they used the old "it has socialist in the name". This year, when Bozo proudly said "one can forgive the holocaust, but never forget" (you can tell he actually was proud because he does actually say "I thought that one up", and odds are high that he spent a sleepless night just to craft this gem), the virtual militia tried to teach jewish theology to various jewish people and organizations on the topic of forgiveness by proxy.
At least since, I'm guessing, they can't claim it was totes popular or constitutional, doubly so because Evo was so restrained even Jesus would have told him to "offer the other cheek, but if the fags still keep at it, man the fuck up". Bolivia used to get a bit more attention back in Hugo's day, but has since been memoryholed just like Argentina, but for the exact opposite reason: their economy is booming for the first time in their miserable history thanks to what normies call socialism. As a matter of fact, their baseline living standards might surpass ours in less than a decade at current trends. Colombia, Mexico and Chile have slightly more frequent updates than Argentina (than it used to have, I mean). Chile has been popping up a bit more lately, because they have cannily picked up the regional leadership role which Bozo threw away. The rest of the subcontinent might as well not exist, save for the occasional update on mass protests and events involving Brazil, such as Car Wash bullshit stinking other countries up. Peru seems to have been shaken by it almost as much as Brazil, but they have kept their shit tight and are also on a boom period.

You can't end poverty by decree, after all. Affecting the base is, ultimately, moving matter to and fro, which requires labor in more ways than one. Affecting the superstructure, now, is more or less free, in as much as all it requires you to reach a certain level of material wealth in order to be at the top of the culture industry. Once you reach such a level, affecting the superstructure becomes essentially free. The marginal cost of goading the cattle into believe this idiocy instead of that stupidity is zero. Actually, scratch that. Mucking with the superstructure is exactly how they make a profit, either with something rather trivial like a new assembly-line k-pop band, or generally foisting a soul-sucking culture of entrepreneurship. Theoretically, there's nothing saying that disinformation, misinformation or just plain useless information has any more or less market worth than useful information, but we all know how that goes. Capitalism rewards evil behavior at all levels. Cue Adorno's prophecy regarding the capitalist cultural industry. Porky gets paid to shit the world up. At any rate, this phenomenon, the commodification of (hyper-)reality, is the logical conclusion of the commodification of information. Well, on hindsight, in a system which commodifies information, the ubiquituousness if the infosphere would coincide with commodification of (hyper-)reality. Seems really simple, but I wonder if a single soul predicted that. Well then, the phenomenon already happened in Brazil and, as far as I can see, it's ongoing around the world. What remains to be seen is whether it will fade away like any morbid symptom does in due time, or whether it's actually irreversible brain damage (which makes sense, because because it feels like something in the public unconscious has been broken). The latter implies that this horrible post-post-modernity will last until the end of capitalism, whereas post-post-modernity itself implies capitalism won't be taken down, but collapse. Quite the combo, even if it's utterly impossible to guess a time frame.
